The power of google
~Maximizing Technology Today~

Our second lesson for S13 during the start of our college life is about google. Maximizing the technology today. I for one didn't know the power of google, until Mr. Oliver Malabanan introduced us its features. So whatever you see here, I learned from him.

Okay, let's see what google offers.

1. Google offers mail services. Storing up to 6772 MB, at the same time, google gives you the feature to chat with your friends.

2. Google uses label system instead of the folder system. Since google believes that a certain mail cannot be organized well with the folder system because a certain mail consists of more than one category.

3. Google has a calendar feature where in you can update your calendar according to your schedule and allow it to share with the world or to your chosen friends. Aside from that, google will send you SMS message moments prior the event to remind you of your plans.

4. Google document allows you to create documents, or power point presentation using the net with just an Internet connection, even without the required software. Plus it allows you to collaborate documents with others, allowing you to edit the same document from other computers. Google also allows you to SIMULTANEOUSLY edit the same document at the same time or you have the option to allow people to view the document without the privilege of editing it. It also allows you to automatically publish it to your blog once you've completed your document.

5. Ever done a research, then saving it to bookmarks for future use? Then eventually you used a new computer and can't get that bookmark since it's saved on the other computer? Well google introduces you the google notebook. Where in you can store websites and categorize them using the label feature. Aside from that, google notebook allows you to share your links to your friends. The links are saved directly to your gmail account so you can access them whenever you change computer when researching.

Note: I wasn't able to put pictures of step by step procedures of these features since it will be more complicated if it's all pictures. Sorry though, but if you have any questions, just comment here and I'll reply as soon as I can.

The gmail logo is property of google and I don't claim any intellectual rights to it.

You need a gmail account in order to access these features. To create an account please go to www.gmail.com
